What help will I get if accepted into the EDHEC Global MBA?

If you are accepted and in turn enrol in the EDHEC Global MBA, you will have access to a wide range of services such as help finding suitable accommodation etc. Upon enrolment, you will be granted access to our online Welcome Guide offering advice on living in France and covering everything from banking to health insurance. Limited access to our International Student Office Website is available before entering the programme to give you an idea of cost of living and life in France in general.


How long does the application procedure take?

Once you complete your application, your file will be processed and successful candidates will be called to interview. Following the interview, successful files will be forwarded to the next selection committee for appraisal. These take place regularly so admissions are on a rolling basis. Successful candidates are informed of the decision of the selection committee by email just after the meeting. The sooner you apply, the sooner you get an answer. The whole process usually takes around three weeks from start to finish but you can request a fast track admissions process if you are pressed for time for whatever reason.


What about the MBA interview?

These can be done by telephone, Skype or on-campus. You decide which works best for you. Your interview will usually last between 35 to 45 minutes and allow time for Q&A. You will be tested on communication skills and general “fit” for the EDHEC Global MBA. Your will have the chance to develop your essays orally at this time.


Should I upload my reference letters?

No. Please either send the reference template to your referees or ask them to write a reference letter and request that they send them back to mba.admissions@edhec.edu from their professional email accounts, or by post to EDHEC Business School- 393 Prom des Anglais - 06202 - Nice.

Where can I find help to prepare the GMAT exam?

The test provider offers free test-prep support and practice exams on their website (LinK here or to our website page on this subject?) . There are also prep guides in print and a plethora of private GMAT test prep providers, be careful to validate the authenticity and references of these providers before enrolling.


What is the EDHEC Global MBA GMAT / GRE code?

There is a new test centre for candidates based in Paris, situated more centrally at rue de l’Aqueduc, close to Gare du Nord. The examination centre offers the GMAT exam and the GMAC Executive Assessment.

The centre in Montreuil remains open. The site operates Monday-Saturday.

Can I apply for a student visa with a conditional offer?

No, you will need to provide a firm letter of enrolment from EDHEC. To get this, you must have a firm offer and be officially enrolled in the programme (i.e, to have paid the first instalment) to apply for a student visa. All candidates must therefore have had their GMAT score approved by the selection committee well ahead of any deadlines imposed by their local visa section of consular services.

Can I apply without a GMAT/GRE?

Yes, it is possible to apply without a GMAT or GRE score and send it at a later date but no GMAT waivers are granted in any circumstance. If you apply without a GMAT in this way, you can aim for a conditional offer and then secure a 1st Nationality scholarship if you are one of the first three of your nationality to enrol in the programme officially by paying a first instalment. If your GMAT score permits, you will be granted a scholarship upgrade according to our scholarship policy. If your GMAT score is considered too low to allow entry to the MBA, your first instalment will be refunded in full. Even If you have paid your first instalment, you can still retake GMAT as many times as you want with the aim of securing a higher scholarship.

Will the admissions team know I have started my online application?

Most candidates are already in touch with the admissions team before beginning their MBA application, but if you begin alone, an alert will be sent to the team. Someone will contact you as your personal representative to invite you to connect. What is the difference between the January and September intake?

There are two intakes. Both cover exactly the same curriculum and lead to the same degree.

September is the main intake and the programme begins with an orientation seminar involving a team building activity.

In January, the integration period is slightly shorter with a different type of team building activity.

The MBA classroom is composed of participants from both the January and September intake who follow the same classes together but in a different order.

January participants for example, will enter a classroom with participants who started their MBA in September of the year before. Those who started in September will leave in June. The January participants will then be in class already for the arrival of the new September intakes and they will then finish their MBA in December. Effectively, there are two cycles going on at the same time within the same class January participants finish in December so although the academic still lasts 10 months, there is a two month summer break which can be used for Tailored MBA Projects (business plans, internships, theses, exchange) with the remainder for travel or relaxing in Nice. Their student visa will enable them to do an internship until 30th June the following year.

September candidates finish in June following year but can use their student visa to do an internship until 31st December of the same year.

Each course and module is independent so it does not matter when you start or end the cycle as the same curriculum is followed.

Advantages of this double class include the fact that you meet two different cohorts so you double your networking potential. January cohorts are able to join the workforce immediately after their program in the New Year, since most  have completed all requirements; there are fewer fresh-minted MBAs on the job market in January, giving it an advantage over the summer period.


Do the fees include accommodation on campus?

No. Students are guided by our International student office for affordable apartments or student residences in the surrounding school area. Accommodation and living expenses are evaluated approximately 1200 euros per month.

Can I get a loan ?

The vast majority of candidates finance their MBA with a bank loan secured in their home country. International students are not allowed to apply for a bank loan in France without a French guarantor under French banking law.

What other financial aid can I get ?

There are a range of other external scholarships and sources of financial aid for which Global MBA candidates may be eligible. This includes scholarships available within your home country or via the French embassy. Check the Campus France website for your country.

The FONGECIF is also available to candidates who work in France but this has become increasingly difficult to obtain in recent years.

Can I get a higher scholarship ?

There is no flexibility in the EDHEC Global MBA scholarship policy, however you can increase your scholarship in line with our scholarship policy.


1) Secure your 1st Nationality Scholarship and upgrade to a GMAT scholarship later

If you don’t yet have GMAT, you can at least secure a 1st Nationality scholarship if you aim for a conditional offer and in turn enrol by paying the first instalment. If you are one of the first three of each nationality, the 20% scholarship will be granted automatically. You then have until 30th June (for September intake) or 30th November (for January intake) to send your GMAT score and secure a firm offer. If your score permits, your scholarship will be upgraded automatically according to the corresponding GMAT category. If your GMAT is considered unacceptable for entry by the selection committee, your first payment will be refunded in full.

2) Upgrade from a Merit Scholarship to a Premium or Excellence Scholarship

Even if you already have a GMAT score and a firm offer, you can decide to re-sit the up until the day before the start of term and aim to increase your scholarship according to your new GMAT score. If your GMAT score drops, your highest score will be retained. In this way, you can upgrade from a Merit to a Premium or Excellence Scholarship.

Can I spread my fees over several instalments ?

Yes, candidates can pay their fees over 3 instalments.

Can my first payment be refunded ?

Once paid, your place and scholarship will be secured. This first payment is non-refundable except in case of extenuating circumstances (eg. visa not being granted or in the case of the condition mentioned in the conditional offer is not being met (i.e. in case your GMAT score is considered unacceptable).

How much do I have to pay for my first instalment ?

To secure a seat, candidates are requested 6,000 Euros.

Can I accumulate scholarships ?

No. Only one can be granted which will be the most favorable  for the candidate. Only the prompt payment reduction can be accumulated with any scholarship in the list.

Can I get a full scholarship ?

No, EDHEC does not grant full scholarships.

How do most participants pay for their MBA ?

The vast majority of our candidates use a mixture of bank loans and personal savings. Most candidates will benefit from one of our scholarships.

What is Fast Fair reduction ?

The Admissions Office offers an 8% Fast Fair reduction for contacts met for the first time at an MBA fair and who move through the whole admissions process from application through to acceptance and enrolment within a three-week period. The extra 8% is deducted from remaining tuition fees due after scholarship and cannot be accumulated with the 5% early enrolment reduction.

What is a Prompt Payment ?

The Admissions Office offers a 5% reduction in fees for Prompt Payment to successful applicants who enrol officially by paying their first instalment of fees within two weeks of acceptance. This reduction is valid for both conditional and firm offers. No Prompt Payment Reduction is possible after the original application deadline. The extra 5% is deducted from remaining tuition fees due after scholarship.
